It should be one of the first things you look to deal with when you arrive at a new office or start a new business. It can help to take onboard some of the reasons why specialist commercial cleaning services are so important, so we’ve put together a list of reasons why to encourage you to make this a top priority in the future.The_Park_Northpoint_-_Open_Plan_Office_Space (1)

Illness and Absence

Keeping the office as clean and tidy as possible will help to prevent bacteria and other potential threats to health from transferring between employees, thus improving the general absence record throughout the office.

This is ultimately much more beneficial for your business as you are less likely to put up with a loss in profits, seek out replacements or reorganise the structure of your office.

Avoiding Compensation Issues

Having an untidy office with any potential hazards or obstructions can lead to your employees injuring themselves.

Depending on the office environment in question, it’s quite possible for someone to suffer severe injury as a result of poor health and safety or cleaning schedules and they have every right to make a claim. The chances are you wouldn’t be able to afford paying out compensation.

Getting Specialists Onboard

If you leave the majority of your cleaning responsibilities with your employees, they may not be able to be as productive in their job. In order to prevent this, you should make use of specialist commercial cleaners with plenty of experience providing various cleaning services using specialist techniques.

This will almost guarantee a safe and secure environment for you employees to work in and stops them from having to worry about cleaning up at the end of the week.

Making a Good Impression

If you regularly invite clients into your offices, you should be making sure your environment is spotless all the time to make the best possible impression.

Clients who witness poor working conditions, unclean facilities and a plethora of hazards are much more likely to be put off working with you.

We’ve spoken about a few technological breakthroughs over the last few weeks, including Dyson’s robotic vacuum cleaner. However, we were truly amazed by something that came to light back in spring when Japanese car manufacturers Nissan unveiled a prototype vehicle that was capable of cleaning itself!

It isn’t as in-depth as something like our own in-situ curtain cleaning services here at Apple Clean for example, but it would certainly tick the boxes for efficiency and practicality. So what does it involve?

A special layer of paint, known as super-hydrophobic Ultra-Ever Dry, is what gives this self-cleaning car its ability to stay water and oil resistant. Nissan released a statement a couple of months back about the vehicle and its distinctive characteristic.

“By creating a protective layer of air between the pain and the environment, it effectively stops standing water and road spray from creating dirty marks on the car’s surface” they said in their statement.

Nissan have said that they are encouraged by the functionality of the paint, as it has “responded well” to harsh weather conditions including flooded roads, snow, sleet and rain. It is still being tested on the Nissan Note and the carmakers hop to continue testing it at their Technical Centre in Europe.

At this stage, the paint is only being used on vehicles and isn’t being sold separately. However, Nissan have said that they may consider selling the paint as an aftermarket product in the future.

The summer holidays are rapidly approaching and many of us will have put some time aside to relax at home whilst the sun comes out and the temperature rises. If you’re one who’s looking forward to spending some quality time at home, there’s never been a better time to carry out some thorough cleaning work around the house. Apple Clean provide all kinds of cleaning service throughout the home, including an in-situ curtain cleaning service, which can prove to be particularly important during the summer. Here are three important summer cleaning jobs you should carry out over the next couple of weeks.

Washing the Patio

The patio is likely to play a big part in your summer holidays, especially if you’re hosting barbecues and other outdoor events in the back garden. Simply brush away any loose dirt before acquiring an outdoor mop along with your own soap solution. Once you’ve done that, leave the solution to do its job for a while before the sun dries out the patio entirely. Remember that water can get trapped between patio slabs, causing the cement filling between them to weaken and plants to thrive, so be aware of how much of the solution you use.

Cleaning Rubbish Bins & Compost

Rubbish bins should always be taken out in as little time as possible after reaching their peak amount. This is because the warmer weather can cause the bins to smell bad overtime, whilst it also attracts plenty of insects. If your bins are reasonably close to your home, be sure to clean them out at least once during the summer after they are emptied by the council. Compost can also attract pests, so try and keep it a reasonable distance away from the property and clean it when you get the chance. Just tip the bins on their side and use a cleaning solution with a scrubbing brush to get the job done.

Controlling Insect Invasions

It’s pretty stuffy right now in the UK, so we’re all unintentionally beckoning flies and other pests into our homes through multiple open windows. A single fly can be a nuisance in itself, but you’re likely to have to deal with a whole host of flies, moths and crane fly’s during the summer, so insect repellent is a good thing to hold on to. Outside of the property, bees and wasps may be circling, so keep an eye out for any nests or hives that turn up out of the blue.

We’ll be back next week with three more important summer cleaning jobs, so keep an eye on the Apple Clean blog over the next few weeks for all the cleaning advice and information you need this summer. Until then, why not get in touch with Apple Clean to learn more about our high quality, specialist cleaning services. We’d love to hear from you!

When you’re looking to get your house on the market, it’s important to try and get your entire property looking as good as it can for any potential viewers. This includes a thorough deep cleaning procedure, although there are plenty of other things you should also consider when preparing your home for potential buyers. Remember that people might be interested in inspecting every corner of your home, including storage space and room size. Here’s a useful checklist to help your prepare your home in the right way and make a future sale all the more probable!

We all look to get rid of unnecessary clutter when carrying out a thorough household clean, although there might be same aspects of clutter that you don’t notice after a certain amount of time. Remember that you’re looking to make the most of your room space so that people can picture their own interior design features with ease. Temporary storage boxes are great for de-cluttering as you can instantly store them away neatly somewhere, such as in the loft or in the corner of a storage unit.

We’ve all got our preferences when it comes to interior design but sometimes having a dominant style can make it hard for people to picture their own design preferences when visiting your home. Buyers with a certain preference might also be put off by your own use of property space, but don’t take it personally. Simply look to depersonalise a bit so that there’s enough room for imagination. On the other hand, it’s essential that you take full advantage of your properties biggest selling points, whether it’s a beautiful fireplace or a stunning garden.

Deep Clean

A standard cleaning procedure isn’t enough. You should make a huge checklist of things that comply with a deep cleaning process, from tackling cobwebs to vacuuming upholstery and dealing with odours. Odours can be particularly off-putting, so try and combat the issue with air-fresheners a couple of weeks prior to the first visit. When vacuuming or dusting, make sure you’ve got every corner of your home covered, as problematic dirt marks and dust build up such as cobwebs can often go unseen.

Finish DIY Jobs You’ve Started

If you were fixing a floorboard or fixing a bath faucet and couldn’t find the time to get the job done, now’s the time to sort it all out. Viewers might be put off by the idea of moving somewhere that has jobs still to be done, as they will instantly realise that they’ll have work to do when they move in. Keeping everything in order and making sure any unfinished jobs are completed makes the property look fresh and ready for a new owner.
